We are looking for a supportive and enthusiastic volunteer to teach Basic ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) to adults in our local community. Many of our learners are new to English and may feel isolated due to language barriers. • Use simple, engaging materials (visuals, roleplay, real-life examples)
  • Adapt content to suit different language levels within a group
  • Create a warm, respectful and inclusive learning environment
  • Track attendance and provide light feedback to the coordinator
  • Encourage learners to participate and practise between sessions

Benefit  to volunteer

  • Make a real difference in learners’ lives by reducing language barriers
  • Gain valuable teaching and facilitation experience
  • Develop communication and planning skills
  • Meet diverse people and be part of a welcoming, multicultural team
  • Flexible, rewarding volunteering with full support from staff
  • Great for your CV if you’re pursuing education, community or support work

  • Smartphone or computer access – for emails and lesson planning
