GIVE grew out of a group of volunteers who came together during the pandemic. We decided to keep going so in 2023 registered as a charity and recruited trustees. We decided to focus on providing voluntary support to people in our community with lower level mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, loneliness.
We currently have a small group of volunteers and need more to grow our charity services.
Key roles for volunteers are:
•Befriending – providing regular support for a person over the phone or on a face to face basis
•Walk Leader – leading a group on a local walk, on a weekly basis
•Charity Representative - offering support at local events to promote the charity and activities
GIVE provides safeguarding training, volunteers require a DBS check which can be arranged with the charity before starting a role.
•Communication •Empathy •Flexibility •Positive attitude
