To provide nourishing, well-balanced meals for up to fifteen crew members and passengers aboard a tall ship, ensuring everyone is well-fed, energised, and supported during the voyage. This role is central to maintaining morale and wellbeing at sea.

Key Responsibilities:

· Menu Planning: Create varied, nutritious menus that cater to dietary needs and available provisions.

· Meal Preparation: Cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, and occasional snacks in a compact galley, often in challenging sea conditions.

· Provisioning: Assist with sourcing, storing, and managing food supplies, ensuring minimal waste.

· Hygiene & Safety: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and galley organisation in line with maritime regulations.

· Team Spirit: Foster a welcoming, positive atmosphere in the galley, encouraging crew camaraderie.

· Adaptability: Adjust menus and cooking methods based on weather, voyage length, and available resources.

What skills do I need?

Practical cooking experience (professional or home-based) for groups.

· Ability to work efficiently in a small, moving kitchen.

· Good organisational skills and time management.

· Flexibility, creativity, and a calm approach under pressure.

· Team player with a sense of humour and resilience.

Duration: Voyage-specific (from a day to a 6-day voyage).

· Accommodation and meals provided aboard.
