We provide accessible assisted transport for the more vulnerable in our local community.
We’re looking for someone who can drive our Electric MPV's across Mid Sussex and if you wish our smaller minibuses.
You will mostly be collecting people over 50 and people of all ages with limited mobility and taking them to the shops, to clubs or activities, to medical appointments or to go to day centres and social settings.
Though we are serving those who are vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation, our Volunteer drivers tell us that they really enjoy meeting the wide range of people we carry and that it has become a big part of their social interaction and has brought them closer to their community.
We also have vacancies for those who wish to become volunteer drives, using their own car ( mileage expenses reimbursed at 45-50ppm)
What skills do I need?
- Two years of having held a full driving license.
- Patience and understanding. Working with people over 50 and people of all ages with disabilities.
- DBS Check and attend driver training session(s). (Fully funded)

This role would especially suit someone who can offer flexible times for an hour or so on weekdays (whichever days you are available). All driver sessions are agreed in advance.
If you have availability of an evening or weekends then that would be great but the majority of our work is done Mon-Fri.
You let us know how much you want to do, when you are available and we will offer you the work accordingly.
