Voluntary Action Epping Forest run a digital skills and inclusion service in Epping Forest district (Power UP! Project). We are looking for team volunteers to help residents facing digital barriers and lacking skills, confidence or access to the online world. You do not need to be a digital expert yourself, just interested in developing your skills.

 What you'll be doing:

As a Digital Champion Volunteer, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to:

  • Assist people, 1-2-1 at advertised digital support drop-in surgeries in Epping Forest
  • Help deliver group digital skills workshops in the local community, with local groups and booked on sessions
  • Learn about digital self-learning platforms (Learn My Way, Essex Digital Help-finder) in order to help others to improve their digital skills

Why volunteer with us?

  • Make a real difference – Your involvement will directly impact the lives of local residents, offering them much-needed task support and new learning.
  • Be part of a team – You'll work alongside a fantastic group of volunteers and staff who are passionate about building a stronger community.
  • Learn new skills – Whether it's improving your own digital capabilities, communication abilities, learning more about local support services, or gaining experience about others, this role offers plenty of opportunities for growth.
  • Flexible support – You won’t be doing this alone! Our dedicated staff will be on hand to assist whenever needed, ensuring you feel confident and supported in your role.

If you're someone who values connection, enjoys meeting new people, and wants to give back to your community, this volunteer role is perfect for you. A small amount of your time can make a world of difference!
