The Role
As Chair of Trustees, you will play a pivotal role in:
Leading our Board of Trustees to ensure robust governance and strategic oversight
Working closely with our operating partner, Acorns Leisure, to drive forward our vision and objectives and ensure excellent customer service
Represent the charity at key events and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Helping fellow Trustees on the board to operate to the best of their abilities
Key responsibilities
Chairing board meetings effectively, fostering culture of open discussion and collaboration
Ensuring the board operates within the scope of its charitable objectives and complies with all relevant regulatory requirements
Guiding the development and implementation of our strategic plans
Supporting fellow Trustees and directing the work of the Board Administrator
Championing the work of the Charity
Ensuring robust relationships with the operating partner, the affiliated sports clubs and other key stakeholders
What we are looking for
Proven leadership experience at board level, either in the private or not for profit sector
Strong strategic vision and the ability to think critically and innovatively and constructively challenge the status quo
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A passion for the impact that sport can have on the health of communities
Experience in organisational governance and an understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of Charity Trustees

Board meetings are held bi-monthly. These normally take place in the early evening and are usually held at the EGSC premises at Saint Hill.
