West Berkshire Libraries are seeking volunteers to help support and deliver IT sessions to encourage and support our customers to access IT and develop basic skills.
If you have a good understanding of IT and have the knowledge and knowhow to be able to play a key role in helping our customers with of the following:
• Provide one to one support
• Many customers will be taking their first steps using a computer. You’ll be responsible for building the learners’ skills to give them the confidence to operate a computer, use the internet effectively and safely, and manage an email account
• Help understand tablet, laptop or desk top help
• Code Club
• Family History
• CV review
• Support with Universal Credits
An ICT support Library Volunteer must be prepared to commit to a regular time which would be timetabled and agreed with the volunteer and library.
This opportunity is available across all West Berkshire libraries.
What skills do I need?
This is an opportunity for a volunteer who can use their knowledge to help others with IT skills. The volunteer needs to be able to communicate, give guidance and support throughout IT sessions.
This opportunity is fun and interactive in all elements and support is available from library staff.
