We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead our innovative project to develop a cutting-edge mobile app range specifically designed for runners and running clubs. The ideal candidate will be a passionate runner with a proven track record in managing complex projects from inception to completion.

Runner's City is a sports running brand for individuals seeking happiness, good health, and overall well-being. We exist to inspire and plant perseverance in all who share our vision of a better tomorrow. Our brand's core belief is to empower individuals to overcome challenges and achieve their potential. Our logo represents the positive change runners are making in their own lives and in the lives of others globally through running. Runner's City is a Running brand focused on helping running clubs and runners excel at running. We are currently working closely with the University of Lancashire (UCLAN) to develop new applications that will revolutionise how running clubs are ran forever.


Responsibilities:

> Project Planning and Management:

> Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

> Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and take corrective action as needed.

> Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

 > Use a project style method, such as software, to ensure the smooth progression of the project

> Manage and coordinate multiple projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget

> Organise and plan project tasks and schedules

> Communicate project status to stakeholders and key project participants

> Stay aware of company goals and strategies to ensure projects align with business priorities

> Facilitate and encourage collaboration across departments to ensure projects are completed successfully

> Optimise project deliverables, schedule, and budgeting

> Work with proposal teams to develop cost estimates and project plans

> Create presentations and reports to communicate project status

> Keep the project team focused on the end goal.


Team Leadership:


> Assemble and lead a cross-functional team of developers, designers, and other stakeholders.

> Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and innovation.

> Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, helping them develop their skills and reach their full potential.


App Development Oversight:


> Collaborate with app developers to define requirements, design features, and ensure seamless functionality.

> Oversee the testing and quality assurance process to identify and resolve any defects.

> Manage the app launch and deployment process, including app store submissions and marketing strategies.



Community Engagement:


> Build and maintain strong relationships with running clubs, athletes, and other community members.

> Organise events and activities to promote the app and clothing range within the running community.

> Gather feedback from users and incorporate it into future product development.


Qualifications:


> Proven experience managing complex projects, preferably in the technology or consumer products industries.

> Strong understanding of mobile app development and software development methodologies.

> Experience in the sports or fitness industry is a plus.

> Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

> Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

> Passion for running and a deep understanding of the running community.




What skills do I need?


Below are the skills expected of a project manager:

> Demonstrable problem-solving project management experience and skills

> A bachelor’s degree in project management, computer science, information technology, or related/equivalent fields may be recommended

> Knowledge of project management methodologies such as DACI and best practices

> Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills

> Strong organisational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills

> Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

> Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

> Proficiency in project management tools and software, including Trello, Asana, Pivotal Tracker, and Basecamp

> Experience with cloud-based hosting platforms and version control tools

> Ability to travel internationally
