Horses for Good aims to provide an environment in which horses and people can receive support, therapy, education and experiential learning to improve their lives and wellbeing. We are a small, not-for-profit organisation based in Rushden and are currently in the process of applying for charity status. We are looking for an experienced professional to work with our participants. Applications are invited from psychotherapists, counsellors, play therapists, teachers, equine assisted learning practitioners, mental health/well-being coaches, and/or other suitably qualified individuals. You will help to eradicate the need for horses to be rehomed due to mental, emotional, behavioural and/or physical issues and contribute to mitigate mental health suffering of people through establishing a connection with horses.

What skills do I need?

The role involves facilitating Equine Assisted Wellbeing Sessions, therapeutic horsemanship and groundwork. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with horses, animals, children and people with diverse needs. As an Equine Wellbeing Session Facilitator, you will offer support for the overall wellbeing of participants at Horses for Good in order to address their social, emotional and mental health needs through the use of horses. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with participants on a one-to-one basis as well as with small groups.
