Join our rangers for hands‑on gardening sessions as we care for the flowerbeds, orchards, and wildflower meadows in our parks.

Typical activities include- planting seasonal displays, mulching, pruning, weeding, watering, and helping maintain healthy soil and thriving borders.

You’ll also support the upkeep of our orchards and meadows, learning about fruit tree care, meadow management, and wildlife‑friendly gardening along the way.

The role involves working as part of a team under the guidance of a ranger or session leader, following health and safety instructions, and using tools appropriately

As with all our roles, we ask you to complete a short application form so we can set you up on our volunteer system. You’ll then be invited to book a brief introduction call with our Volunteer and Community Engagement Specialist. This friendly, informal 15‑minute chat is an opportunity to talk about what you’re looking for, explore which roles might suit you best, and learn more about how to get involved.

What skills do I need?

No previous gardening experience is needed—just enthusiasm, a love of being outdoors, and an interest in nurturing beautiful green spaces.

If you’re over 18 and keen to grow your gardening skills while improving your local parks, we’d love to welcome you to the team.
