Our Fareham & Gosport Voluntary Car Service is entirely run by volunteers. Our mission is to enable vulnerable / elderly members of our community to get to appointments conveniently and economically when public transport options are not viable. We need additional Coordinators to join our team in both Fareham and in Gosport:

• Where and when you perform the role is negotiable – could be at home or office, at times during the day/week that work for you.
• We would like multiple volunteers to work as a team so that the service will be resilient and yet not over-burden anyone.
• It involves talking to our clients and taking bookings / dealing with enquiries, liaising with our drivers, and doing the admin involved in arranging transport to medical and social appointments.

Full training and support will be available.

What skills do I need?

Person Specification:

• Be confident, friendly, enthusiastic and motivated
• Have attention to detail
• Be flexible and able to work with minimum supervision but collaboratively
• Be patient, tactful, reliable and non-judgmental
• Deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive data and information

Skills Specification:

• Competent IT user of Word, Excel and the Internet
• Good writing skills using email
• Experience of administration work & record keeping
• Good communication skills both on the phone and face-to-face
• Customer service skills
• Ability to manage volunteers' expectations and ensure processes are followed
