Veterans Dementia Support UK is seeking a Volunteer Dementia Group Lead to support our community group in Lee‑on‑the‑Solent and Stubbington, starting September 2026.

We have a strong, committed team of volunteers in place and are looking for someone who can confidently lead the group, guide activities, and support those living with dementia in a warm, inclusive and community‑focused environment.

About the Role

The Volunteer Dementia Group Leader will:

  • Welcome those living with dementia, families, and carers
  • Lead group activities and reminiscence sessions alongside our volunteers
  • Support volunteers and ensure sessions run smoothly
  • Help maintain a relaxed, friendly, dementia‑aware environment
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the group
  • Ensure attendance details and client details are maintained

What skills do I need?

Essential Experience

  • Supporting individuals living with dementia or memory loss
  • Planning and delivering activities suitable for stimulation and social engagement
  • Working effectively as part of a team
  • Compassionate, patient, and confident in a community setting
