Veterans Dementia Support UK is seeking a Volunteer Dementia Group Lead to support our community group in Lee‑on‑the‑Solent and Stubbington, starting September 2026.
We have a strong, committed team of volunteers in place and are looking for someone who can confidently lead the group, guide activities, and support those living with dementia in a warm, inclusive and community‑focused environment.
About the Role
The Volunteer Dementia Group Leader will:
- Welcome those living with dementia, families, and carers
- Lead group activities and reminiscence sessions alongside our volunteers
- Support volunteers and ensure sessions run smoothly
- Help maintain a relaxed, friendly, dementia‑aware environment
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the group
- Ensure attendance details and client details are maintained
What skills do I need?
Essential Experience
- Supporting individuals living with dementia or memory loss
- Planning and delivering activities suitable for stimulation and social engagement
- Working effectively as part of a team
- Compassionate, patient, and confident in a community setting
