To raise funds for DPV, which is a user-led not-for-profit organisation, through grant applications and generate ideas for fundraising activities and events.

What skills do I need?

  • Develop a fundraising strategy and plan.
  • Report funding opportunities eligibility guidelines and submission dates to the board.
  • Present funding proposals to the board to ensure full support for any applications or fundraising activities.
  • Seek grants to support DPV.
  • Plan and implement fundraising activities to help DPV maintain momentum on our fundraising activities.
  • Collaborate with our graphic designer to design promotional posters and leaflets and our social media volunteers. Work in partnership with our web developer on digital fundraising activities.
  • Keep the board informed of the status of lodged applications and progress.
  • Collaborate with directors to manage grant-funded projects.
  • Have a good working knowledge of legal issues relating to fundraising activities.
  • Liaise with local business regarding donations, sponsorship and maintain a current database of contributors for appropriate recognition.
  • Maintain records of donations received and activities, both successful and unsuccessful, for future reference.
  • Organise fundraising activities and functions and present plans to the board for approval.
  • Oversee volunteer rotas for fundraising activities.
  • Maintain appropriate fundraising records as required by the treasurer.
  • Seek event sponsorship and ensure sponsors receive the recognition and promotion promised
  • Send documentation with letters of thanks to contributors and sponsors
  • Liaise with treasurer on issuing of invoices, payments etc.
  • To observe our Volunteers’ Code of Conduct.
