Volunteers are vital to the continued running of Diving Museum. Facilities and Maintenance Volunteers are responsible for the upkeep of the outside areas of the museum buildings and small maintenance jobs as required. They become part of the Green Team who work together to undertake tasks relating to the upkeep of the buildings and grounds.

Volunteer tasks 

• Work under the supervision of the Estates Manager to ensure the overall tidiness of the outside of the Diving Museum and the ARP Bunker. 
• Undertake mowing grass, weeding, and painting. 
• Repair outside exhibits and artefacts where feasible.
• Undertake tasks with regard to health, safety and maintenance

What skills do I need?

• Volunteers from all backgrounds and experience are welcome, especially those who have an interest in working in the museums and heritage sector.
• You will need to enjoy working outside undertaking manual tasks.
• Punctuality, reliability, and interpersonal skills are important, as is a willingness to take responsibility for areas such as health and safety.
• The role is suited to anyone who likes working as part of a team.
• You will be volunteering under the guidance of the Museum Manager, supervised by the Estates Manager.
• You will be on your feet conducting physical tasks.
