HHE is a small charity with a team of loyal volunteers. We pride ourselves on looking after our volunteers and like them all to feel part of a very special team. We have an annual volunteer update training day, as well as various optional ‘top-up’ training opportunities and coffee mornings throughout the year.
Role description:
To assist in maintaining the Hearing Help Essex garden to a high standard for event use and visitors to enjoy. We have a small team of dedicated garden volunteers who help maintain the garden and keep it looking its best all year round – from planting to weeding and everything in-between there is always something you can do to help.
A Hearing Help Essex Gardening Volunteer’s tasks may include:
- Tending to and weeding flowerbeds
- Weeding paths and paved areas
- Grass mowing
- Planting and digging
- Watering Maintaining our pond
- Pruning shrubs Taking cuttings and growing from seeds
What skills do I need?
A Hearing Help Essex Gardening volunteer will:
- Have an enthusiasm for gardening
- Have some basic gardening skills and a willingness to learn
- Have the physical ability to fufil the requirements of the role
- Be able to work in a team and on their own
- Commit to a few hours a month
Before you join as a volunteer we will need to attend appropriate training and an induction.
