SEND Lead

Sundays at the Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre we run a theatre school for children with disabilities and health needs. We are looking for someone experienced with SEND who would volunteer work or be trained up via us in SEND Leadership. You would be the one the staff turn to for advice and guidance along with their own skills learned from their training sessions. You would work 1 to 2 (with another volunteer) with children at the table in the hall doing activities and assist their whole class activities. You would be the first to assist when a child has a meltdown and if you are not available you would delegate to another staff that you have working with you. We are after 1 SEND lead but to also know that the teacher will have SEND lead training in case you can’t make a session we are still able to run. We are giving children with additional needs a space to feel valued and supported while they learn performing arts skills. Please note you will also be helping in class time when you are not 1 to 2’s with children. Hope you enjoy having games too the students enjoy drama games.
