Community Companion Befriender

This volunteer role involves supporting a client over an 8–12 week period by helping them access and feel more confident in their local community. The volunteer can accompany the client to volunteer lead community groups, activities, coffee mornings, and other local events, helping them build community connections and establish new friendships within their area. Age Well East provides full training, along with ongoing support from a nominated Friendship Coordinator throughout the volunteering journey.
What skills do I need?
Conversation & listening skills, able to access their local community, confidence in
attending new groups/activities, compassion and has patience.
