We are looking for volunteers to help us on our Level 2 Horticulture Course at our beautiful Therapeutic Community Gardens in Westcliff on Sea. 

You will be supported by dedicated staff who will be present at each session. 

We need our new helpers to have most of the following qualities in order to be considered for this opportunity :

-          Horticulture experience as a volunteer,  qualification, or interest. Or experience in a classroom setting supporting learners.

-            Able to follow instructions from the course leader, and understand relevant topics to enable effective support of students.

-            Support students with understanding course content, help them complete worksheets and provide explanation of taught elements.

-            Help and support practical activity; ensuring students are competent. 

        Experience in supporting people with mental health and learning difficulties.

 Helping with the setting up and packing down of the activities.

       Be a positive role model, encourage good habits.

What skills do I need?

   

People skills: Good work ethic, show initiative, attentive, good listener, organized

Experience in Horticulture, teaching and supporting people living with ill mental health or SEND
