Become a Carers Support Volunteer: Make a Real Difference in Your Community

Are you passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in your community? As a Carers Support Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting unpaid carers who are looking after adults in the London Borough of Ealing. Your efforts will directly contribute to the wellbeing of carers, helping them find much-needed respite and bring carers together.

This role will help promote the Ealing Carers Partnership services, by raising awareness of what we offer, assisting with events, and improving engagement with carers in the community. To develop strong links with the local community to understand the needs of those who are caring for others.

Your Role as a Carers Support Volunteer

As a Carers Support Volunteer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting Ealing Carers Partnership Services: Help us raise awareness of our services and encourage carers to access vital support. You’ll hand out leaflets, promote events, and ensure carers know what’s available to them.
  • Assist at Events: Help with setting up, running, and packing down after events, such as our Carer Cafés and wellbeing activities. You’ll also can engage with carers in a friendly, supportive environment.
  • Support Carer Cafés: Facilitate informal meetings where carers can meet each other, share experiences, and access emotional support in a safe space.
  • Increase Visibility: Help spread the word about the Ealing Carers Partnership, improving our visibility and engagement within the local community

Minimum 6-month commitment preferred*

Volunteering recruitments process is during the weekdays*

What skills do I need?

Skills, experience required:

·       Positive attitude towards vulnerable clients who may have a variety of complex needs and those who are caring for them

·       Desire to gain local knowledge about services or a willingness to find out what is available to support local Carers

·       Available 2-4 hours per week (to be agreed by the team)  - Available during the weekdays

·       Be confident in communicating both verbal and written information

·       Experience of talking to groups is desirable

·       Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding is desirable full training will be given

·       Comfortable using Microsoft Office and emails

·       Will need to attend health and safety training
