Healthcare Research Volunteer

Could you help shape the future of healthcare?

We are looking for volunteers to take part in short-term healthcare research studies. This is a great opportunity to share your experiences and opinions and help researchers understand what matters to people when developing healthcare, treatments and services.

What will I be doing?

Depending on the research study, you could be asked to:

• Complete questionnaires or surveys
• Take part in an interview or discussion
• Attend a research session
• Share your experiences and views
• Give feedback on a healthcare service, resource or treatment
• Complete follow-up activities

Each study is different, so you will be given clear information about what is involved before you decide whether to take part.

Every research study is different, and you can choose whether you would like to take part in an individual opportunity.

Current Research Opportunities: 

• MINDER – short online survey about sleep, memory and dementia risk.
• GLAD – research into the genetic and environmental factors linked to anxiety and depression.
• Improving Black Health Outcomes (IBHO) – encouraging people from Black communities to contribute to research aimed at improving health outcomes.
• DESTIGMATISE – research with Black communities around prostate cancer awareness, stigma and diagnosis.
• DETERMIND – research looking at inequalities in dementia care, particularly involving underrepresented communities.
• RESILIENT – a longer-term study for people aged 65+ with multiple long-term health conditions, using home health-monitoring technology.
