Community Research Connector

Could you help bring healthcare research into our communities?

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help promote healthcare research opportunities across different communities.

As a Community Research Connector, you will help raise awareness of research, talk to people about opportunities available to them and help make sure that a wider range of people and communities have the opportunity to have their voices heard.

What will I be doing?

You could:

• Talk to community groups and local organisations about healthcare research
• Promote current research opportunities within your community
• Share information through community networks, events and social groups
• Help researchers connect with different communities
• Encourage people to find out more about research opportunities
• Signpost people to appropriate research studies
• Help identify barriers that may prevent people from getting involved
• Share feedback from communities about how research opportunities could be made more accessible
• Attend community events and outreach activities

You don't need previous research experience. We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys meeting and talking to people
• Has an interest in their local community
• Is confident building relationships with different groups and organisations
• Can communicate information clearly and in an approachable way
• Is respectful of different cultures, backgrounds and experiences
• Is enthusiastic about helping more people have a voice in healthcare research

Knowledge of a particular community, language or local network would be welcomed but is not essential.
