We are looking for a volunteer shop manager!
This is a position that will appeal to applicants who have shop and retail experience.
In this role, you would have overall responsibility for all aspects of managing the shop including stock control and management, volunteer training and recommending improvements to the shop operation.
You will need to use your initiative and experience to ensure that the shop operates effectively and efficiently.
The shop is an integral part of the operation of the museum and previous experience in commercial retail would be welcome.
Our shop manager and supporting volunteers will be the first contact that museum visitors have, so a positive and welcoming attitude to our visitors by all our shop volunteers is essential.
What skills do I need?
- Good organisational skills.
- Well developed people and communication skills.
- Previous retail experience

Must be available on site to support and lead our shop teams.
Needed on pre-agreed days of the week to oversee and operate the shop/retail function.
Will manage the shop volunteers and their rota arrangements.
This is a volunteer position and is not remunerated.
