About

Home-Start Nottingham is a family support charity working in four boroughs of Nottinghamshire: Ashfield, Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe and in the City of Nottingham. Our vision is a society where every parent has the support they need to give their children the best possible start in life. We provide support, friendship and practical help to vulnerable parents with one or more children under 8. Most of the parents we work with have poor mental health or wellbeing and are socially isolated with no-one to turn to for support. Our aims: • To improve the health and wellbeing of the most vulnerable young children • To support parents to build strong, happy families • To help families connect with their local community • To enable parents and children to access, and benefit from, care and support from local services We recruit, train and supervise volunteers with parenting experience to provide peer support in the home to parents who are struggling.
