Over 50 years old, Volunteer Centre West Berkshire operates a scheme to assist the less able passenger to reach appointments of all kinds, e.g. hospitals, clinics, dentists, chiropodists, and to social functions also.
Volunteer drivers are needed to collect clients from their homes, take them to appointments and stay with them throughout their appointment and take them home again. Our clients make a modest contribution towards mileage and drivers receive a mileage allowance of .50 pence per mile.
We are in the process of bringing our service to the Kingsclere area. We are looking for volunteer drivers who can provide transport to those living in Kingsclere.
The Volunteer Centre is in Broadway House at the Clocktower end of Northbrook Street.
What skills do I need?
Drivers will be caring, patient, like people, especially the elderly, and enjoy getting out and about.
A clean driving licence is essential.
