• Competence with downloading bank information, and reconciling entries using Excel. Contact with the travel planners by email, and learn the membership database. 
• Set up payments online to suppliers and venues in a timely manner, e.g. to meet the deadline before a trip. These are counter authorised by a committee member.
• Attend quarterly committee meetings. Check costings for travel planners to ensure we do not overcharge for trips. Advise travel planners of funds received via email in a timely way. Either send bank downloads to them 3-4 times a week when their trip has gone live, or add to the Beacon (CRM software) ledger at a similar frequency.
• Work with travel planners to ascertain values and undertake refunds to members. Get a fellow committee members to cover for you if away when it is busy.
• Time required: ½ hour on a month with no trips, 2-3 hours a month when trips are on sale.

What skills do I need?

• Book-keeping
• Accountancy skills
• Ability to work in a small team of volunteers
• Communication skills - verbal and written, to u3a members and third parties involved in booking travel
• Organised and able to work to deadlines
• Ability to use email, Excel spreadsheets
