We are seeking volunteers who will help children to explore their world, for some this will be through sensory play, for others it will be developing skills through play and for our older children / young adults it will be around developing new life skills and practicing those that may take a little more time to master.

We are flexible on Volunteers focusing on group or individual play with a varied age range or progressing to supporting children with complex medical needs (full training given).

We are based in a purpose-built centre with full and unlimited access to the sensory room, soft play, art and music room, fully adapted enclosed playground, kitchen and large hall with a large selection of toys and equipment.

We love getting out and about in the community and in nature and volunteers will really enhance our ability to do this more often.

Volunteers help us to provide the children with a variety of people and personalities which hugely enhances their experience with us and as we all know variety is what life is about.

We are always keen for our Staff and Volunteers to share their own creativeness and to lead sessions e.g. our dance teacher is going to run a couple of short dance sessions on various days during the Summer Holidays, one of the team enjoys painting and will be joining us for a couple of sessions etc.

We are in the last little housing estate on Enborne Road (Pound Street becomes Enborne Road).

What skills do I need?

We are looking for enthusiastic, fun, reliable and creative volunteers who are committed to helping Children, with learning, physical and complex medical needs.

Building relationships with the Children is the key to success and for some children this will be something that happens quite quickly but for others this may take time and for this reason we are looking for volunteers who can offer us some longevity.

We have no special qualification requirements and anyone who has children / grandchildren or experience of working with children have all the qualifications needed.

Some experience of learning disabilities / Autism / ADHD etc would be beneficial although absolutely not essential.

We will provide volunteers with free ongoing training and regular 1:1 support & team meetings in a fun team, with a lot of energy and a great team ethos. We will give you as much time as needed, with the support of other team members, to enable you to get to know the children.

Free uniform, refreshments, on-site parking, DBS & registration on the DBS Update Service.
