Join our team and train to provide free, confidential advice to Surrey Heath residents facing challenges with benefits, housing, debt, employment and more. No prior experience needed – we’ll teach you everything required to make a real difference.

Your Training Will Cover:
• Active listening and sensitive questioning techniques
• Identifying urgent issues and key deadlines
• Researching accurate, up-to-date information
• Explaining options clearly and impartially
• Recording cases confidentially

We Need You To Bring:
✓ Excellent communication skills
✓ Ability to absorb and simplify complex information
✓ Respect for all cultures and backgrounds
✓ Basic computer competency
✓ Commitment to 6-8 hours weekly (including training)

What skills do I need?

We don’t look for particular experience or qualifications but what you do need are excellent communication skills, an interest in problem solving, the ability to quickly sift through information and extract what is relevant and an open, approachable manner. Our service is open to everyone so respect for views, values and cultures that may be different to your own is important. You also need to be familiar with using a computer and have good basic keyboard skills.
