Make a real difference to someone’s life.

We’re looking for compassionate volunteers (aged 21+) to support patients and their families in their homes. This role offers emotional support, companionship, and practical help like accompanying patients to appointments, shopping trips, or simply sitting and chatting.

What you might do:

• Drive patients to/from the hospice or medical appointments
  
• Offer companionship at home—talking, listening, keeping someone company
  
• Help with outings to garden centres, local shops, or a walk in the park
  
• Provide respite for family caregivers
  
• Offer light household or everyday task support

No experience needed – full training provided, including:

• 5-day volunteer training (mandatory)
  
• Moving & handling training (3 hrs)
  
• Safeguarding training
  
• Driving observation (if applicable)
  
• Ongoing support via monthly volunteer groups

What skills do I need?

Requirements:

• Over 21
  
• Friendly, calm, empathetic and trustworthy
  
• Driving licence, MOT & insurance (if offering transport)
  
• DBS check & references required
• Your time could make everyday life more manageable and meaningful for patients facing life-limiting illness.
