The Grange Centre Bookham is a charity dedicated to supporting adults with disabilities. We are seeking volunteers to join our Gardening Team. Whether you're an experienced gardener, or simply someone who loves the outdoors, this is your chance to contribute to a rewarding cause while enjoying the beauty of our 8-acre grounds.

Volunteer Gardening Assistant

As a volunteer gardening assistant, you’ll support the tutor in our gardening sessions, to help individuals with disabilities to develop gardening skills and care for their own plots. Each person has their own space to grow fruit, vegetables, and flowers. Plus, with our Victorian walled garden and greenhouses, you’ll enjoy a peaceful and vibrant environment – rain or shine!

Sessions are either in the morning or afternoon, lasting for approx. 3 hours, with a break in-between.

This role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in a beautiful setting. We are flexible with working days and can discuss this after your application has been received.

What skills do I need?

What you’ll need:

· A love for gardening and the outdoors.

· Patience, a sense of humour, and a positive attitude.

· Comfort working in a variety of weather conditions.

· Ability to engage in light physical activity for up to 90 minutes at a time.

We provide steel toe cap boots for your safety.

Trial sessions are available for those who want to get a feel for the role.
