Every January, our community comes together to collect Christmas trees from people’s doorstep and recycle them, in exchange for a donation to the Hospice. The more volunteers we recruit, the more trees we can collect, meaning the more funds we can raise to continue delivering our free expert, compassionate end of life care and bereavement support for local patients and families whenever and wherever they need it most.
By becoming a Christmas Tree Collection Volunteer, you will enable us to raise funds that support the Hospice’s mission to expand its excellent care to more people across our community. With your help, our goal this year is to collect more than 1,400 trees and raise over £35,000.
You’ll be either driving your own van or assisting the van driver and visiting residential properties to collect trees, pruning them to enable easier loading, loading them onto a van, and offloading them at drop-off locations for recycling.
This is a short-term volunteering role, taking place between 8 January – 12 January 2027 in 22 different postcodes across our care area. You can sign up to help us for a half day or as many shifts as you would like!
