We have many fundraising events throughout the year, both at the hospice and in the local area. Helping out could be assisting at one of these events.  Helping us with the event administration or attending an event, to say a few words on behalf of Haven House.

Events Champions:

Our volunteers are the eyes and ears of Haven House in the local community. They help us raise vital funds and awareness for the charity.

We have many fundraising events throughout the year, both at the hospice and in the local area. By volunteering you could be assisting at one of these events, networking, helping us with the set-up of an event.

Sometimes people in the local community hold events on our behalf, so it is important to have a Haven House volunteer represent us to show our support. We have seen first-hand the impact that having volunteers at events has made.  It has led to increased awareness, money raised and additional support across the areas that we cover.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Volunteers attending and networking at events on behalf of Haven House and this could sometimes include giving a small speech about the work we do.
  • Picking up a cheque.
  • Being a judge at a bake off or attending a raffle or bingo evening.
  • To raise awareness of the hospice, by providing presentations to a variety of organisations about the work and services we provide.
  • Volunteers are also asked to look in their local communities at events and organisations where they could run a stand or hold a talk.
  • There will also be home-based research tasks within the Community.
  • The Events team will assist with promoting seasonal fundraising products. For example, you could be contacting local schools to take part in our Elf for a day project or contacting local businesses to help promote our Christmas Tree collection.

Benefits to volunteer
