As a Library Sorter Volunteer, you will help keep the library organised, welcoming, and easy to use. This is a practical, hands‑on role focused on maintaining book collections and ensuring visitors can easily find what they need. This is not a librarian position, but an important support role that helps the library run smoothly day to day.
Key ResponsibilitiesLibrary Sorting & Organisation- Sort and shelve returned books and materials using the library’s classification system
- Keep shelves tidy, well‑organised, and easy to browse
- Restock displays and help ensure popular sections remain inviting
- Assist visitors in locating books or direct them to library staff for further support
- Flag damaged, misplaced, or missing items to library staff
