Portsmouth Creates are looking for volunteers to support our team to bring magic to Cosham park as part of We Shine Community!

Portsmouth is set to glow this November as ‘We Shine Community’ brings three days of free light, art and performance to communities across the city. The free citywide light festival, launched by Portsmouth Creates in 2021 returns for three evenings.

We Shine has been reimagined for 2026 to celebrate 100 years of Portsmouth being awarded City status. The programme will bring together light installations, visual art, performance and participation opportunities – offering local people and visitors the chance to experience something unexpected in familiar places and view them in a new light.

As a CIC, Portsmouth Creates rely on the very generous support of funders, partners and volunteers to be able to deliver these kinds of free events to the city. We are looking for volunteers to support us over the live festival between the hours of 16:30 and 21:00 each day.

Roles to include:

- Supporting the delivery of free and simple creative engagement activities on-site, such as doodling and drawing/colouring activities to add to installations

- General stewarding and directing, liaising with the public to help to create a warm and welcoming environment

- Stewarding of installations to ensure fun yet safe engagement

· Volunteers will be supported by the Portsmouth Creates and Victorious Festival team at all times and it’s a really fun event to be part of.

· There is no parking available on-site but we are happy to reimburse parking costs.

· We require support across all 3 evenings, however, volunteers do not have to commit to all 3. We do require that volunteers are able to commit to minimum of an entire shift from the hours of 16:30 till 21:00 to make this manageable.

What skills do I need?

- Minimum 18 years old

- Can travel independently to the event

- Available on the 19th November 4:30 - 9pm

- Happy to help flexibly during the evening
