Support ‘Circus in Motion’, an exciting contemporary outdoor circus event taking place at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard on 17–18 July 2026, alongside the CiM Mini Creative Arts Conference on 18 July 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a vibrant, creative event that brings together performance, community, and the arts in a unique historic setting.
Volunteer Roles:
Event Stewards:
Play a key role in ensuring visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience. Responsibilities include welcoming attendees, helping to manage entry and exit points, monitoring and counting visitor numbers, and supporting the smooth running of performance areas by providing clear guidance and maintaining safe spaces.
Conference Support:
Assist with the delivery of the CiM Mini Creative Arts Conference by helping to set up and tidy event spaces, greeting and signing in guests, and providing general attendee support throughout the day. Additional tasks may include operating presentation screens, helping to manage refreshments, and supporting the organisation of lunch and dinner arrangements to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
What skills do I need?
- Minimum 18 years old
- Available on the 17th or 18th of July
Enthusiasm and reliability
Passion for the arts
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (for welcoming visitors and stewarding)
Ability to work as part of a team
Basic organisational skills (for managing refreshments, sign-in desks, and setup/tidy tasks)
Flexibility to adapt to different roles and shifts
