Cotgrave Community Garden is looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and support the financial sustainability of our community-led food growing project.
This role helps ensure the charity’s finances are well managed and supports decisions that enable fair access to food, community wellbeing, and long-term resilience.
Key activities include:
- Overseeing budgets, accounts, and basic financial reporting
- Helping ensure good financial systems and controls are in place
- Supporting cash flow, reserves, and funding decisions
- Advising the Board on financial planning and sustainability
- Supporting fundraising and income-generation planning
About you:
- Interested in community, food justice, or gardening
- Experience or understanding of finances (charity experience helpful but not essential)
- Willing to learn about Trustee responsibilities and contribute to Board decisions
- Able to offer time, care, and clear thinking
The Treasurer is also a charity Trustee and shares responsibility for ensuring the organisation acts legally, responsibly, and in line with its aims.
