As scouting nationally moves over to Trustee management of groups, to comply with our Charity Status; 2nd Broughton Scouts Group seek a further Trustee to join our current team. Trustee role is to oversee and be responsible for the effective and safe running of the group, ensuring we maintain financial stability. The role does come with some legal responsibilities, and is required on occasion to make tough decisions. However this is as a group of Trustees. You do not need to have children in any of the sections, ideally live either in village or have a link to, through friends/relatives.

We meet for a couple of hours termly, so three times a year, unless there are requirements that dictate otherwise. That said we are a solid, solvent, proactive group, with a dedicated group of section leaders who consistently deliver exciting and progressive programmes for the youngsters in their section.

Trustees would be required to be DBS checked and complete some mandatory training. Mentoring support is available as is an induction to the role.

More specific information can be found on Scouts.org website, type in Trustee role to find all the details.

What skills do I need?

Have an interest in young peoples safe and secure development of life skills Able to make sound rationalised decisions Be a team player Be prepared to ask difficult or appropriately critical questions. Good communicator Organised and committed to the group
