Happy@Home befrienders provide a lifeline for elderly people in our community, who may be feeling socially isolated and vulnerable.
Our befrienders take time to chat with them once a week and become a friend.
They help provide information on services available in the community and a listening ear.
Our befrienders, may be an elderly persons only contact with the outside world.
Usually our befrienders visit an older person in their own home once a week. Some of our befrienders support an elderly person by helping them to get out for a short walk or a trip to the shops or a coffee in a café.
All our volunteer befrienders receive training and are DBS and reference checked and are supported by our project co-ordinators.
If you have an hour a week and enjoy chatting with older people, then why not contact us for an informal chat and more information!
We would love to hear from you.
Empathy with the elderly, friendly personality, trustworthy and reliable
No formal skills required.
