How do I join?
Find your local detachment and click Join as a volunteer today. Your enquiry will be handled by our regional team, who will contact you in due course. In the meantime, please do not attempt to visit an Army Cadets facility until formally onboarded as an adult volunteer and authorised to do so.
As an adult volunteer with Army Cadets, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of young cadets, but don’t worry – no prior military or cadet experience is required. What is expected of you, however, is a commitment to supporting cadets, being a positive role model, and continuously developing your skills.
Volunteering with Army Cadets requires dedication and time, as you’ll be helping to lead activities, train cadets, and support their personal growth. Flexibility is important, as your involvement will include evenings, normally 1 or 2 per week and occasional weekend commitments, averaging once every few months after training.
In return for your commitment, you’ll receive full training and ongoing support. You’ll also have opportunities to take on leadership roles and specialise in areas that interest you, all while contributing to the personal development of the next generation.
