Volunteer Events and Community Engagement Manager

Who Are We?

We are a Sussex-based charity focused on supporting children and young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to develop their confidence through gaining practical skills. Our core activity is holding supported woodturning and creative workshops for children and young adults aged 11 – 22 years. Through these workshops, SEN SHED helps participants develop confidence, practical skills, social connections, and improved wellbeing in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

The Role:

We are seeking a person with strong communication and interpersonal skills to play a key role in helping to raise awareness, build meaningful connections between SEN SHED, local communities, businesses, schools, and supporters, and generate fundraising opportunities.

Working closely with the Chair, Trustees, volunteers, and supporters, you will help plan, organise, and coordinate events that showcase the work of the charity and support the charity's ongoing development.

What skills do I need?

• Good organisational and planning skills

• Ability to coordinate activities and work with a variety of people
• Problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Enthusiasm for the mission and values of SEN SHED
• Previous event management or community engagement experience is welcome but not essential
