Who Are We?
Turning Tides has been supporting homeless & insecurely housed people in Worthing & the surrounding areas for over 30 years. The Organisation has grown considerably and now offers services across other areas of West Sussex including Horsham, Mid Sussex & Littlehampton. During the last financial year we worked with 978 clients across all our Projects. We have a highly committed and effective volunteer community of around 200 people and 171 paid staff. Our mission is to end local homelessness – putting clients & our Community at the heart of our mission. We provide a range of high & low support housing and are in the process of registering as a housing association.
The Role
The voluntary Trustee role has various responsibilities such as governing the affairs of the Organisation and ensuring it is financially sound.
Within the current year a number of our existing Trustees will reach the end of their term. We are seeking to recruit new Trustees to address emerging skill gaps on the Board.
As we prepare for registration as a Housing Association, our governance & Committee structure is being reorganised. This presents an exciting opportunity to seek more Independent Committee members, to play a key role in shaping our future direction and strengthening the effectiveness of our Board and governance.
