Can you make a great cup of coffee ?    Would you love to learn how to be a Barista ?  Then this role could be the right one for you !

As a community Cafe we offer a stimulating and sometimes challenging atmosphere where we serve diverse groups of people.

We are looking for a volunteer Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, tea and speciality drinks.

As a volunteer Barista with us you will conduct the following duties and responsibilities.

  • Greet customers as they enter and provide them with drink menus and information about the coffee and tea options
  • Take orders and payments from customers and prepare their beverages according the their preference
  • Educate customers about the different types of coffee and tea and how they are brewed and served
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work area, seating area and equipment
  • Follow health and safety regulations and policies at all times
  • Check and restock the inventory of coffee beans, tea bags, milk sugar, syrups and other supplies
  • Report any issues or problems with the brewing equipment or the quality of the products

We will provide training with an introduction to coffee making and the use, care and maintenance of high end coffee-making equipment and apparatus.


What skills do I need?

The Barista may need to have some qualifications and skills, such as:

  • A passion for working in hospitality and serving the community
  • A great eye for detail and a high standard of cleanliness
  • Able to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
  • A willingness to follow instructions and be part of a team
  • Previous experience as a Barista or waiter/waitress would be helpful
