We have many fundraising events throughout the year both at the hospice and in the local area. Helping out could be assisting at one of these events, helping us with the event administration or attending an event to say a few words on behalf of Haven House.

Roles can vary for each event but can include marshals, registration, catering, serving refreshments, running games, merchandising stalls or selling raffle tickets.

Volunteers are also asked to attend and network at events on behalf of haven house and this could sometimes include giving a small speech about the work we do, picking up a cheque, running a stand, being a judge at a bake off or attending a raffle or bingo evening.

The Event Champion's core responsibilities are: -

Assisting at events

Speaking/networking at events

Running a stall at an event

To give out information on Haven House

To source places to run events and talks

What skills do I need?

No skills or qualifications are needed, however you would need to be reliable and enthusiastic and it would help if you:

Enjoy working with people

Have good communication skills

Comfortable in Public speaking (this is not a necessary skill as you can help with other aspects of the role)

Volunteers will be invited to attend the appropriate level of safeguarding training.
