As a Chess Club Volunteer you will work in partnership with Library staff to deliver Chess Clubs in Libraries for both Adults and Children across Havering.
The main tasks of a Chess Club Volunteer are:
- Liaising with the Library Manager concerning Chess Clubs
- Setting up and clearing away the area or room used in the Library
- Recording Attendance
- Help to promote Chess Clubs
What skills do I need?
- Good Communication and listening skills
- Experience of working with young people and a knowledge of Chess are an advantage, but not essential
- Enthusiasm
- Confident and happy to get involved with people of all ages and background
- Flexible and able to volunteer on a regular basis
- Ability to volunteer without supervision
- Reliable and responsible
