Set in the stunning grounds of Bedfords Park, an historic parkland site of 215 acres, owned and managed by the London Borough of Havering. The nature reserve affords fantastic views over London and into Kent. The Visitor Centre offers an opportunity to discover the wildlife whilst enjoying refreshments and a gift shop, run by a friendly team and wonderful volunteers who are passionate about providing fantastic customer service.
Role description
- Welcoming visitors to the centre.
- Discussing and sharing with guests the work of the Trust.
- Discussing membership options.
- Operating the till for retail and catering sales.
- Restocking catering and retail shelves.
- Preparing hot and cold refreshments.
- Clearing tables and using the dishwasher.
We can tailor volunteering opportunities bases on your needs and accommodate a variety of different skill sets at Bedfords Park Nature Discovery Centre and its garden.
What skills do I need?
We are looking for volunteers with good communications skills, who are able to converse with a wide range of different people,.
You will enjoy volunteering in hospitality, previous use of EPOS systems would be useful

We ask the volunteer to commit to a regular shift, ideally once week between 10am - 2pm to support our hardworking centre team, week days, weekends and school holidays.
