The Volunteer Handy-Person supports Emmaus Hampshire by helping to maintain our homes, workshops, retail premises and community spaces so they remain safe, welcoming and fit for purpose.

Working alongside staff, Companions and external contractors, the Volunteer Handy-Person uses their practical skills to carry out general maintenance, repairs and improvements that enhance the quality of our shared environment.

More than simply repairing buildings, the Volunteer Handy-Person contributes to creating a community where people feel valued, respected and proud of the place they call home.

The Community Volunteer Handy-Person is not simply carrying out repairs—they are helping to create a place where people can rebuild their lives with dignity, hope and purpose. Every repaired door, decorated room or fixed tap contributes to a community where people feel respected, valued and at home. Through sharing practical skills and taking pride in the places we share, they help Emmaus Hampshire remain a welcoming environment where everyone can live, work and thrive together.

· An appreciation of Emmaus Hampshire's values and mission.

Experience in one or more of the following would be beneficial:

The typical commitment could be one day per week but role is flexible and can be adapted to suit the volunteer's availability.

The Volunteer Handy-Person reports to the Support Manager responsible for Facilities Management and works collaboratively with staff, Companions, volunteers and contractors to help maintain safe, welcoming and well-cared-for buildings.
