Become a Trustee and Help Shape the Future of Your Community

The Waterlooville Area Community Association (WACA) has been at the heart of the local community since 1974. Established by local people, for local people, WACA became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in 2016 and continues to provide a welcoming community hub that supports, connects and enriches the lives of people across the area.

As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in guiding the charity's future, helping to ensure it remains financially sustainable, well governed and focused on meeting the needs of the community it serves. Working alongside fellow Trustees, you will help set the strategic direction of the organisation and activities, ensuring that WACA continues to make a positive impact.

The Board meets approximately every six weeks for around two hours. We welcome people from all backgrounds and experiences, and each Trustee brings their own skills, knowledge and perspective to the role.

Beyond Board meetings, some Trustees choose to become more involved by supporting community events, projects and activities, helping to strengthen WACA's connection with local residents and user groups.

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a real difference in your local community.

What skills do I need?

We welcome applications from all areas of the community who have a genuine interest in making the centre an affordable and accessible venue for the local community. We are looking for someone with a financial background to support our Financial Controller.

We also look for Trustees that give a voice to the community and help us evolve with the needs of the local area.
