Here at Guide Dogs, our team of volunteers is growing, but we’re always in need of new members.
We encourage people from all walks of life to join our community of caring and passionate volunteers. When we say volunteering for Guide Dogs is life changing, we’re not just talking about the people we’ll support. You’ll gain new skills; build confidence you never knew you had and have amazing experiences that you genuinely couldn’t find anywhere else.
There are around 2 million people living with sight loss in the UK. Guide Dogs, a UK-wide charity, supports people with a visual impairment to maintain their independence and live the life they choose. There are lots of different services on offer, ranging from volunteer-led services such as sighted guiding through to support for children and young people, access to technology, and the iconic guide dog service. It costs around £102,000 to breed, raise, train and support a guide dog partnership throughout the dog and owner’s life.
Our Fundraising volunteers play a significant part in enabling us to continue to provide these services. Could you help inspire and motivate a team of volunteer fundraisers in your local area? As Fundraiser Group Coordinator for Guide Dogs, you can use your skills to make a huge difference to people’s lives. In return, you’ll gain experiences, memories and friendships that last a lifetime.
You can make the Fundraising Group Coordinator role your own. You can take on as much or little as works for you, or you can share the role with other volunteers in the team. You’ll also have the full support of your Guide Dogs volunteer manager.
The role would involve speaking with local businesses about fundraising opportunities for example, at local shopping centres, supermarkets, local events; organise fundraising activities for example quiz nights, bowling nights, sponsored walks, murder mysteries or anything else you can think of. You would build good working relationships with other volunteers in your group and make sure fundraising policies and procedures are followed and records are maintained.

If you love talking to people, are creative and can motivate others then this role could be perfect for you.
You will be supported by a Volunteer Manager and the other Community Fundraising Group Coordinators are always willing to offer advice and help. Volunteering for Guide Dogs should never leave you out of pocket so we will ensure any expenses related to your role including travel costs are covered.
This opportunity can be carried out whilst working from home.
