We are currently looking for volunteers to support our Walk and Talk Counselling team at our community garden in Fleet. We are looking for someone for who is available on a Friday morning from 10:00 until 13:00.

The role is to support our counsellors by meeting their clients and helping them feel at ease whilst they await their counselling session and then being on site while the counsellors take their clients for a walk around the local country park.  

The role involves the following and a full induction will be given: 

• Three to four hours of your time per session. Be prepared to unlock the gate and lock up at the end with the counsellors. 
• Ensuring the counsellor(s) have everything they need. 
• Meeting 2-6 clients, staying with them, making sure they are comfortable until their counselling session begins. 
• Ensuring that the counsellors have returned at the designated time and following up if they have not
• Moving forwards there may be the possibility to participate in some light gardening and/or jobs while on site but this is not confirmed and will not be mandatory

What skills do I need?

We are looking for volunteers who are: 

• Patient 
• Reliable 
• 18+ 

This is an ideal opportunity to understand how a counselling service runs and also to have exposure to counsellors in between their clients.
