Are you looking for a volunteering role which is both challenging and rewarding? Being a school governor certainly meets these criteria. It would give you a crucial role in shaping the future of children in our community.
We are a Junior School, categorised as 'outstanding' by Ofsted with strong ambitions and plans to maintain this standard so that our children have the best possible education and experiences to develop as people ready and equipped to move to the next phase of their education and with a foundation for their later lives.
We are seeking an additional governor to complement the skills of our existing governing body. Ideally that person would be community minded and have a background in finance, administration or education.
Our Governors are either elected - staff and parents - or co-opted. They come from a variety of backgrounds, both in the private and public sector, and with a range of skills and experience.
What skills do I need?
Although a professional background would be an asset, with the training and support available, no specific prior experience is necessary apart from enthusiasm to make our children's education better and the desire to give back something of real value to our community.
