Fleet Hospital and Community Friends exists to improve the care and comforts of the patients, above those which are funded and provided by the N.H.S. The Friends also increase the profile of Fleet Hospital through their membership and connections with local groups and business.
The charity is currently seeking a new Secretary. This is a vital role within the charity as it provides a contact for all users. The role provides support to the various trustees in all the administration of the charity.
Volunteering with the Friends means you will be assisting the local community by helping to fill gaps in provision and responding to applications for support. You will be supporting a hospital that for 130 years has provided medical and health care locally. Built by the local people and supported by the Friends for the last 56 years.
What skills do I need?
- Good secretarial skills.
- Able to interact with all users.
- Caring nature to other needs.
- Experience of health services is useful but not essential.
- Local knowledge of the Fleet area and residents would also be beneficial.

The committee meets bi monthly at the hospital - times depend on everyone's availability but currently normally on a Wednesday at 5:15pm. Volunteers will also need to attend various events and ideally will have availability during the working week.
